Almost done with the second set of photos from Japan that I plan to post this week, and in making this image my desktop background, I just had to share this one photo before setting down to sleep.

So I processed this photo in color, but in switching to black and white, I decided it works better in gray. The image had minimal color anyway to hold any real interest and in switching to black and white, I was surprised to see the separation of tones and details available in the foreground. You just never know what you have until you start to work on the image and make something out of it. With more experience, you begin to predict the outcome better and when I shoot new content, I will have to remind myself to shoot less and to trust my instincts as well.

Well, this is all I wanted to share and as the night progresses on, I am more conscious of the late hour. I just finished listening to some amazing Avant-Garde Jazz and it kept me company tonight during this cold night like some college student, drunk with after hours delight.

Though I did not edit that long, I got through some and I should be done tomorrow in editing all the Japan photos from January. Additionally, this week I plan to reorganize my blog and rework how it flows. I need better categories and organization, so look forward to that!
