I have deleted my facebook. My main reason being that I have my website and as it continues to grow, this is where you will find me, and where I want to find you. Of course, I will keep my instagram as well since I will be using that mainly to advertise my site.

All and all, this year ended up being a time of connecting and learning to grow with what I have. So though I was not shooting as much, I have been working more with my archives and though a work in progress, I aimed to provide a full spectrum of my work through my website. So it has been a rewarding experience rescanning my negatives from my time at Roanoke College and I still have a lot to edit. I am done scanning my 35mm negatives, but I still have to scan the medium format and large format negatives that I have. Although I did shoot the large format during my time at Roanoke College, I never felt like we discussed it thoroughly so it was my main reason for getting back into film photography earlier this year when I enrolled at American University as a non-degree graduate student for their Large Format / Commercial Photography class. It was the best decision I made.

Reconnecting with film this year was a great and surprising reward towards my craft. I admit, I struggle to maintain a commercial presence with my work, so I took the time this year to work and improve on my weaknesses, which ultimately is my lack of pre-visualization with light/content, and an inconsistent business plan. Mainly, I had been just relaying on my abilities to react creatively with what's already there and to proceed with the main goal of capturing something, there, in the moment aesthetically. However, as this approach becomes boring, I see how expanding my portfolio into more commercial territory is the challenge that I need to start pursuing if I want to continue growing professionally, and internally. The worst feeling any artist can feel is "jaded" towards their own work. If you find yourself in that situation the best advise I can give is to continue creating, even if little by little. And sometimes even just cleaning up your studio space, hard drives or just editing photos is the task needed to stay productive in your craft. Creating is the final goal, but we must work to maintain our sanity and ultimately a strong foundation.
With that said, here are some photos of my dog and bud Peter! Taken this year with my Canon AE 1 Program. Happy to say, I got the focus I wanted. In the past, I was not taking that into account and if you were wondering XD, Peter no longer has those nasty eye boogers on the right, and it has been cleaned since ^^

As I finish this post, I will announce lastly that I will be refocusing my efforts this December on past projects that I have left abandoned and will not stop until those are finished (i.e. will be putting my nude work on the side for the moment). These projects I have owed to my friends, you know who you are. I will not say much about it, but true friends are understanding of delays and such, and it is time I fulfill those promises, so thank you for your patience.
Stay Tune!
