I find that after an initial metering of a scene, I tend to meter the rest on my own, and adjust accordingly to the luminosity that is reflected back. Only when the contrast is a drastic departure from my initial reading do I check the meter.

class had finished around this time. but that is no reason to stop taking pictures.
