The tonalities provided from the shadows, that was created by the morning light, is why I was drawn to this scene. That, and the monuments have nice textures that I wanted to capture. Overall, I love the rich ranges of grays throughout the photograph.

In Lightroom, when working with my negative scans I try to minimize the editing I have to do and try not to mess with the tone curve. Instead, I try to keep all my edits within the "Basic" module in Develop. With this image I just increased the contrast a bit and that was it.
