i started, with no goal, but to create.
i am, therefore i do.
the rest, usually makes sense later,
in retrospect,
a matter of perspective.

I met a street-photographer who was also studying abroad at Kansai Gaidai. He was better than I was at capturing strangers in the streets, and on campus. I remember when he commented that he hated being without a camera, because he never wants to miss out on a moment and I agreed and added that my weakness is seeing a moment that I want to capture, but being too shy to do so.
During this time, I was carrying my camera everywhere. A habit I wanted to develop, and so I started here. I needed more experience in photographing people however, so I began to photograph my circle of friends in Japan. It served as a way to practice and record the moments of a semester that I knew would likely be remembered long after I graduated from college.
I was right. I think about my Japan experience often, and about the people I met, wondering where and who they are now.
